AN INTRODUCTION TO ADOPTION
Thank you for reaching out to us about adoption. The four attorneys here at Kirsh & Kirsh have over 90 years of combined experience practicing adoption law. We know you have many questions and are here to walk you through every step toward a successful adoption.
For interstate adoptions our services include compliance with the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC), a law which regulates an adoption of a child from one state to another. Each state has an ICPC office. If you live outside of Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, or Tennessee, and would like to work with us, you will need to consult an adoption attorney in your state to confirm that none of the following will prevent your adoption from receiving approval from your state’s ICPC office:
- Payment of the Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C., Adoption Services Fees of $19,500, which are in addition to attorney fees (but included in the total cost of adopting in the link below);
- Payment of Birth Mother Living Expenses allowed under Indiana law of $4,000 in total during the pregnancy (included in the total cost of adopting in the link below); and/or
- Any other aspect of working with our firm or provision of your state’s laws or ICPC regulations.
You can find an adoption attorney in your state at https://adoptionart.org/find-an-attorney/attorney-directory.
