What about the Birth Father?

Birthmothers often ask us if the father of the baby has to be involved in the adoption plan.

Birth Father's involvement is not necessary

Birth Father's identity is not necessary

Sometimes the father of the baby is actively involved in, and supportive of, the process. Obviously, that makes the situation very easy. If the father is not involved, or doesn't want to be involved, it's not necessarily more difficult for you. Indiana has very favorable laws for the birth mother. In fact, under Indiana law, you don't even have to identify the father, if you don't want to.
